Happy, Happy, Happy!

Hey Y'all! I am still living my best life here in Lubbock Texas. This week was not super crazy. We met a few new people and will hopefully be having first lessons this next week!

We called one lady who was on our referral list. When we called we asked her if she wanted to meet with the missionaries she enthusiastically said yes! We were super excited to be able to teach and then we found out that she wasn't actually in our area. So we sent her off to the elders who are over her area. She is in good hands though!! Then we tried by another referral that didn't live there anymore but her family still did. We talked to this man named Frank for a while when his daughter got there and saw that we had a Book of Mormon. She said if y'all have an extra one of those I would like to read it. We were like ya of course take it. So we will be going back to see how she has liked it.

We also had exchanges this past week and I was with Sister Olsen from Heritage area. Which so happens to be the area where Nikko lives!! We tried to meet with him, but he had work. I did get to talk to him for a minute and he is doing so good! He will hopefully be getting baptized super soon! Yay!! ðŸŽ‰ðŸŽ‰ We also taught a lesson with a man named Antonio! He is a super awesome man who loves the Gospel and learning about it. It was so evident that our Heavenly Father loved him so much. He is truly making life changes to become more like our Heavenly Father and Savior. It is so joyful to see the change within people. I can't describe it but it is amazing! I know this is the Lord's work. I am so grateful to be apart of it. I know that our Heavenly Father loves each and everyone of you! He is so aware of you. If you ever need reminded just let me know because I will gladly tell you all day how much He loves you! Let me know if I can do anything for any of you. I love y'all so much and beyond grateful for all of the love and support!

Howdy!

Hey Y'all!! Happy Late 4th of July! How blessed are we all to live in such a beautiful country. I hope you all enjoyed your 4th!

This past week has been filled with many fun and exciting activities. One of which was interviews with President Hales. Those are always the best. He is truly a leader called of God and I am so grateful for him and Sisters Hales. We laughed lots during my interview!

Then this past week we got to celebrate the Fourth of July! We went to a parade because when in Texas which we enjoyed watching, although my friends... Idaho parades are just a bit better. There was only one horse in the whole parade (it was fearless champion) What??? It was still pretty cool though! Then we went finding a bit and found a lady who said she was looking for a church where they fit in and weren't judged. I will keep y'all updated on that! Then we had a super awesome lesson with Jose that afternoon we taught him the Plan of Salvation! It went so well. I think he is starting to understand that there is something different in our church than any other church he has looked into. He even came to church ON Sunday which was so exciting. He is super awesome and God has great things in store for him! Then that night we went to Elder and Sister Bergeson for a bit and Elder Bergeson showed us his mad guitar skills! It was so fun. Then we went to Max's house (she referred Larry) with Larry and some other elders to have some Brisket ðŸ˜‹ and potato salad and other really yummy things! We also played some cornhole! Then they lit some fireworks off for us. It was a wonderful day!

This week we also had zone conference which is the best thing ever. It is where we gather as missionaries and learn how we can improve in our efforts of finding those who are prepared! Something I learned was we should look at everyone the way the Savior would. So we took that to heart and when we got home there was a person digging through our garbage. We decided to go and grab them some of our food and then give them a gift. The Book of Mormon! The man was so grateful for the treats and gift. I love testifying to people of the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon and how it can really change lives. I love that book!

Also another favorite part of zone Conference is at the very end, we all go outside and stand in a huge circle. Then we all shout Hoorah for Israel! It is so fun! Then to end the week of crazy events we had to fog our apartment for cockroaches. We had to take all our dishes and food and put it into our car (on fast Sunday). We stayed strong and people probably thought we were homeless. Then we had cold cereal at the church for dinner. It was great! Now we are waiting to find all the dead bugs! This will be so fun! ðŸ˜°

God is so good y'all! I know this church is true. What an amazing opportunity I have to be able to share it with all the people here in West Texas! I really do love the life I get to live right now! Have a wonderful week I love you all so so much! God bless you all! ðŸ’•

Best Decision!

Hey Y'all! Hope you are all doing well! I am still living my best life here in Texas. This week has been filled with lots of service and many miracles.

Every Thursday we usually know it will be full of service. We help two ladies with some chores that they are not able to do themselves. One ladies name is Miss Billie. She is the sassiest southern lady ever and man do I love her. She would do anything for us. She is not a member and previous missionaries have tried teaching her, but she would fall asleep during lessons. They stopped and continued to serve her. When we go over we usually watch and inspirational message with her. This time we chose to watch the restoration. She thought it was a cool movie and had many questions afterward. We were able to answer some of them and also invite her read the saints book. To hopefully clear up some concerns. Line upon line is she getting more truth and knowledge about the Gospel and one day hopefully she will accept the fulness of it.

Another miracle was with our friend José! He had canceled our lesson this past week and we had not seen him in two weeks. We were pretty bummed out. But... We have a super awesome member who knows Jose. So she invited him and us over for lunch. We were so grateful to be able to spend that time with Jose and get to know him and his daughter Carolina. We were able to introduce to him the Plan of Salvation. This is God's plan for us and answers questions of why we are here, where did we come from, and where are we going after this life. It truly is a plan that brings much peace and happiness to my life. We were able to even give his daughter a Book of Mormon and invite her to read it! We are so excited for them to continue to learn and progress in this wonderful gospel!

Story time! My companion hates moths, and we were in bed one night and it was after 10:30 and Sister Bergeson was like Sister are you awake. I was like sure what's up? She said I think there is a fly in my window it is flying around. I was like okay turn the lights on and she was a little scared so I turned them on. Then I was like open the blinds and she did like an inch, so I went over and pulled them completely open... And a moth flew out and hit me in the face and then got stuck in my hair! My companion runs out of the room and then goes and grabs the fly swatter and throws it to me and then closes the door. I was trying really hard to kill but then I just lost it completely. So we went on a search we had not clue where it was. I was looking under the bed and Sister Bergeson came in and pulled up some covers and there it is and it flew at me again. I screamed so loud our neighbors probably thought we were being murdered. It finally lands and I kill the stupid thing. It was like 11:30 before we got to bed. If you know missionaries that is way past our bed time! Stupid moth! Then the next night I go to get in bed and there was a moth. I killed it so fast it didn't even stand a chance. Moral of the story is if you need a moth killed I am your girl!

Also this past week I hit my one year mark. I have officially been a missionary for a whole year. What a crazy year it has been. I have had some of my highest highs and lowest lows. It is the most rewarding work that I have ever done in my life. I have felt pure JOY as watching those I have grown to love change their lives to follow Jesus Christ. I have learned much about myself and about the Gospel the last year and will continue to learn more the 6 months. I love this work. I know it is true. I can't deny it. I love y'all so much and am so grateful for all of the love and support. You guys are all truly amazing sons and daughters of God never forget your worth. Have a blessed week!
