One Month Out!

I have officially been a missionary for one month. It is crazy how fast time seems to fly.

It has been a good week here in Amarillo. We have a new investigator her name is Theressa. She is our other investigator Vernessa's sister. Every time we teach her she has so many questions and loves what we are teaching her. She says she has always known the things we are teaching her were true we are giving her confirmation. We have all heard about Heavenly Fathers plan before we came to earth. Sometimes some people forget we are just here to remind them. We invited her to be baptized on September 22nd and she accepted. We are so excited! We also had a lesson with Robin and invited her to be baptized on August 25th and she also accepted. She was so excited she said it was an honor to be invited and she said she wouldn't be able to sleep that night because she is so excited. It is amazing to be able to watch these people grow in faith.

We got to help at the community market again Saturday, and it was so fun! It is probably one of my most favorite days of the week. They are even giving us t-shirts so we are going to be real official. We also got to work at the Botanical Gardens on Wednesday! We pulled weeds from a vegetable patch. It is so pretty there with all of the flowers and different plants.

This next week is zone conference and we are given a topic to write a talk about in case we are chosen to speak. The topic is who is Jesus Christ to me? I know what the Savior did for me and what he can continue to do for me, but I haven't ever really pondered about who He is to me. I invite you all to ponder Who is Jesus Christ to you?

I love being in Texas and the people here are amazing. I know this is where I am supposed to be and wouldn't want to be anywhere else.

Love you all,
Sister Browning

p.s. Live update for y'all we just got a call telling us that we have to move new apartments within the next 10 days.

Officially a Texan!

Hey y'all! I am now in Texas living my best life! I love it here! It has been a crazy but great week!

We arrived Monday evening and met the mission president and his wife, President and Sister Hales. They are the sweetest couple ever! We stayed at their house the first night. On Tuesday they took us to see the Lubbock Temple and then they treated us to lunch at a hamburger place called Blue Sky-definitely recommend!  After a great morning they sent us on our way to our new areas! I am in Amarillo! It is the cutest place and I love the people here so much already.
My new companion is Sister Kitterman she is the sweetest person ever. We get along so well!

Wednesday was my first official day as a missionary in Amarillo. We woke up early and got to go  play ultimate frisbee. We then had district meeting and then I officially met one of our investigators, Venessa. She really wants to be baptized but has an addiction to smoking. So hopefully she can get help at addiction recovery to stop that habit so she can be baptized. She really loves family history and wants to go to the temple one day and do the work for her family. We also have another investigator her name is Robin and we are inviting her to be baptized this week. She seems so ready she reads the Book of Mormon during her spare time which is amazing. Hopefully she accepts our invitation to be baptized Aug. 18th

Thursday we did service at the Ronald McDonald house. We just helped clean a room, but doing service is so much fun. We also went to addiction recovery with Venessa that night.

Friday is our bike day, and I can officially say everyone that warned me about the heat was not kidding! It is hot here, especially on a bike! . Luckily we use Friday for planning, so we aren't in the heat too long.  We went to a members house for dinner and helped her move her bed room around. She then offered to take us home so we didn't have to bike. Bless her soul.

Saturday was a fun day! We do service at the community market which is like a farmers market and help people set up their tents to sell their stuff. People are very kind and offer us the things they sell! We got brownies, peach popcorn, season spices, breakfast burritos. It's a good way to meet people! We also met with Venessa and had a lesson about faith, and then we fasted with her to have the desire/ability to quit smoking. We follow up with her today to see how it went.

Sunday was a great first week at church and finding in the area!

Today we went to Cadillac Ranch to spray paint some cars which was pretty cool!

One of the highlights this week so far has definitely been a family made me a green meal because I am a new missionary or a "greenie". We had Green enchiladas, green sherbet, green rice. It was so fun!

Another really cool thing going on is our zone is doing is a 40 day fast for miracles to happen everyday. So everyday for 40 days a companionship is fasting for miracles to happen in our zone. It is awesome and then at the end of the day we have a group text of what happened that day.

I love being a missionary and meeting new people everyday. How awesome is it that I get to testify of my Savior everyday and help others come closer to him. I love you all and hope you have a good week. Thanks for all of the love and support!

Lots of pictures from old and new districts!

Last Week in the MTC!

Hey y'all! I hope everyone is doing well this week. It has been a good week here in the MTC and I can't believe that it was my final week!

We had our final TRC lesson on Friday and we committed her to baptism! It was amazing hearing her say yes. I was so excited for Julianne and her willingness to come closer to our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. We were really sad that it was our last one though we had so much fun getting to know her.

My district is amazing and we have so much fun together, and I am so sad that tonight is our last class together before we all leave for our missions. Three of us leave Monday morning and the rest leave on Tuesday. Time seems to be going by so fast. The first day I got here I never thought it would get to this point of leaving and going to Texas. I do not know if I am really prepared for the Texas heat but ready or not here I come!

We got two new districts this week and we had to do a little orientation with them all. There were so many of them they all seem really excited to be here and serve the Lord. It was weird showing them around because I still don't feel like I know where anything is and I am about to leave.

Thank you all for the love and support that you have shown me! I could not be more excited or happy to be a missionary and to be serving my Heavenly Father. I can not wait to help bring others unto Christ and show them the happiness this Gospel can bring them.

Until next time!

Love you all Sister Browning!

**Sister Browning safely arrived in Texas Monday evening! She was able to call her family at the airport, and they were relieved to hear her eager and excited to get to work!**

Week 2 in the MTC

Hey y'all!

I am doing so good! I love the MTC and the people that I am meeting here.

It has been such a good week. I don't really do much except go to class and study the scriptures. We started TRC this week and it has been going really well. Our investigator's name is Julianne and she is so fun to teach. It is amazing how the spirit is the real teacher in the lessons.

On the fourth of July we had classes all day. My companion and I saw a couple of parade floats, so it was kind of like going to a parade. We had a devotional that night and then we got to watch the fireworks from the stadium of fire. They were really cool and it made me feel part of 4th of July celebrations.

The sisters in my district did face masks this week which was so much fun. We all get along so well! I am going to be so sad when we all leave for the field and split up. Four of them are going to Canada and then two of us are going to Texas! We are already planning a district reunion though.

I love being here! There is no where else I would rather be. I love you all and hope everyone is doing well.

Until next week,
-Love, Sister Browning

1st P-Day!

Hey Y'all Sister Browning here!

It has definitely been a crazy week here with lots of learning. It can be very overwhelming the first few days, but it is getting better as time goes on. I am so grateful to be here on a mission, and to be able to serve the Lord. My favorite part about my first day was getting my name tag and being able to wear the Saviors name on my chest.

I love my companion her name is Sister Stevenson and she is the best! She is so kind, and loving, and I am so excited we get to share this MTC experience together. I also have the best district! My teacher said on the first day that we would all become each other’s best friends and I did not believe it, but believe it or not in just three days they have truly become some of my best friends. Thinking about leaving them makes me so sad!

We were able to go to the temple this morning which was so awesome and fun to do as a district. The sad thing is the temple will be closed the rest of the time I am here. However, I am so grateful to be here and could not think of being anywhere else. I am so grateful for the things I have learned and the people I have met.

-Love you all Sister Browning!
